Roofing Dumpster Rental
Roofing debris is heavy for its size, so the right roofing dumpster is chosen by weight as much as by volume. City Dumpsters delivers roll-offs for shingle, tile and flat-roof tear-offs across the Bay Area and Los Angeles, placed where your crew can toss debris straight from the roof edge.

Choosing a Dumpster by Roof Weight
One square of asphalt shingles (100 square feet) weighs a few hundred pounds per layer, and tile weighs much more. On a typical single-layer shingle roof, a 20 yard fills by volume around the time it reaches its weight allowance. With two or three layers, or with tile, plan on more weight, and tell us the roof size and layer count when you book so we can recommend the right container.
Placement for Roofing Crews
Place the dumpster as close to the eave as access allows so debris can drop straight in. In San Francisco and other dense cities that often means the street in front of the house, which needs a permit. We handle your permit so the crew can start on schedule.

Roofing Dumpster Rental FAQs
A 20 yard dumpster covers a single-layer asphalt shingle tear-off on most single-family homes. Tile or multi-layer roofs are heavier, so share the roof size and layer count and we will recommend a size.
Roughly 200 to 250 pounds per square (100 square feet) for a single layer of standard asphalt shingles. Architectural shingles and extra layers weigh more.
Yes, but clay and concrete tile are very heavy. For a tile roof a smaller heavy-debris container, or more than one haul, is often the right plan.
Prices start at $650 and include delivery, pickup, the rental period and a set weight allowance. Extra weight, extra days and trip fees are listed on our fees page before you book.
